Dental Implants

Did you know that you could benefit from one of the most advanced forms of tooth replacement? Whether you have a full or partial denture, or have lost a single tooth, an implant might be the answer for you. Dental implants are “artificial teeth “that are surgically anchored into the jawbone. These “artificial teeth” are stable and secure. Dental Implants can often make sore gums and “clicking noises” associated with dentures a thing of the past. The need to grind down an adjacent tooth in order to replace a single missing tooth is no more. Dental implants provide a level of comfort and longevity never imagined before.

Dental Implants

For the past 20 years, I have been a KOL (key opinion leader) for an implant manufacture that in my opinion produces the most advanced implant in the world. I have lectured for BioHorizons throughout the United States and have participated in the development of many of their components.

The development of dental implants, revolutionized dentistry. Although previously we were able to replace missing teeth with fixed bridges, removable partial dentures and full dentures, we are now able to replace teeth without depending on the adjacent teeth or gums for support.

In many cases, it would be a shame to have to prepare perfectly healthy teeth adjacent to a missing tooth just to replace one tooth. Additionally, following many years of bone loss due to chronic periodontal disease, frequently the retention of full dentures is compromised as the support (bone) for stability has been lost.

We are now able to fix dentures or bridges to implants giving them stability and a more natural tooth like feeling when speaking and eating. A dental implant is a titanium post placed into the bone that replaces the root of a tooth. I am then able to, through a variety of components, attach either a crown, bridge or denture to them.
